I also find that having a written workout plan, with the details of each exercise listed, is a great help to getting through a workout efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>The original idea came from a Lifehacker posting at<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lifehacker.com\/369766\/track-travel-and-workouts-with-a-pocketmod\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/lifehacker.com\/369766\/track-travel-and-workouts-with-a-pocketmod<\/a>.\u00a0 This is how I implemented it.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Create your Plan<\/h3>\n<p>Using any word processor or text editing tool, create an 8 page document<br \/>\nwith your workout plan.\u00a0 Here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/dennissherman.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/workoutplantemplate.doc\">workoutplan template<\/a> for one possible format, adjust as you like.\u00a0 Just remember that this 8 page document is going to be printed on a single piece of paper, so keep your font choices large enough to read.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Save as PDF<\/h3>\n<p>Save your file as a PDF document.\u00a0 If your word processor doesn&#8217;t have<br \/>\nthat ability built in, install a &#8220;Print to PDF&#8221; tool.\u00a0 Google &#8220;free pdf&#8221; and select one of many.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Convert PDF to PocketMod<\/h3>\n<p>Download and install PDFtoPocketmod from<br \/>\n<a href=\" http:\/\/www.pocketmod.com\/files\/PDFtoPocketmod.exe\"> http:\/\/www.pocketmod.com\/files\/PDFtoPocketmod.exe<\/a>.\u00a0 Run the program, and open the PDF file you created in step 2. Select &#8220;Save as PocketMod&#8221;<br \/>\nto create the one page document you&#8217;ll be folding.\u00a0 Be aware that this<br \/>\nis currently beta software, and a little flaky.\u00a0 I sometimes have to<br \/>\ntell it to save twice before it works, and it seems to be better if<br \/>\nI have the cursor on the &#8220;Save as type&#8221; dropdown when I select &#8220;Save&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4: Print and fold<\/h3>\n<p>Print the page you created in step 3, and follow the instructions at<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocketmod.com\/howto\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.pocketmod.com\/howto\/<\/a><br \/>\nto fold into a booklet.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your workout!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s January, time for all good &#8220;January Joiners&#8221; to re-up at the gym, and start in on that resolution to lose weight and exercise more.
